Belgium Military Museum

Belgium Military Museum, Brussels.

Frankly saying, this was the first military museum i visited in my life. And, the only one till now ;).

The Museum
Renowned for the reminiscents of the first world war, The Royal Museum of Armed forces and Military History in Brussels presents those memories through its magnificent exhibits. The museum not only exhibits the history of world war, but, indeed it has a vast collection of arms and armaments which were a part of the wars fought in historic battles.

Entrance
The three-arched arch of triumph radiates a splendid view for the entrance of the museum. The arch was inaugurated on September 27, 1905. Infact, the masterpiece was completed by the parisian architect Charles Girault eventhough the initial plan was formulated by Gedeon Bordiau in 1875.

This gave me the impression of a torpedo and its warhead. The explanation was in dutch and french.. so, hope so..

This stuff was pretty cool. A rotating 5 barreled gun.

This is one of the best guns that i saw there. This gun might had got incredible firing capacity with 37 firing holes for bullets. I dunno about its firing rate.. But, this would have been the beloved lady for its operator.. ;-)

For me, it was an amazing experience to go through these world war one armaments. Thinking of their life then, it was like a bullet in head if you loose your concentration. They had suffered quite a hell those times. The history says so.

At the end of world war 1; when the armistice was called on November 11, 1918, the world started observing this day as Armistice day/Remembrance day.
