Belgium Auto Museum

~~ Vintage cars ~~

Some cars which i thought worthwhile of mentioning the 'specifics' will be covered in this picture post. The pictures were taken during our visit to Belgium Auto Museum on 30th September 2007.

Ps: Pictures have been re sized to a lesser quality level; even though, you will get the privilege of scrolling your mouse through the width of the screen for the full view(See, So kind of me).

Chrysler Six

This 1925 Chrysler six clearly would have wooed the mistresses of those times. The most amazing thing that struck me is the finish of those wooden spokes of its wheels.

Minerva

The 1911 Minerva reminded me of the concept vehicles which pops up nowadays in the market from different manufacturers. This one seems to be an output of bright minds of 1911. Those guys have thought about some nice body framing and aluminum chippings during that time. A vision which possibly envisaged the cars of today.

Sunbeam Talbot Alpine

The 1954 Sunbeam Talbot Alpine was a muscle car of displacement 2267cc, 4 speed manual gear box make. The car gave me an impression like - a car used by the 'gentleman' of 'that' time to take his girlfriend for a date. Bet me on that!

Rolls Royce

The 1926 Rolls Royce on display was elegant with its extended hood encasing the muscular engine; everytime, it has been.

Jaguar

The Jaguar on display was typically showcasing the much famous twin bonnet louvers; often the pride of 'uniqueness' for a Jaguar owner.

Delage

This car from Delage Automobiles was the car specific for its style. It rested on a shortened wheelbase with a low roofline, aerodynamic bodywork, and an inclined radiator. The tapering end of this Delage model was justifiably eye catching.

Cadillac Eldorado

The length does matter! The Cadillac Eldorado of 1958 make was long enough for my camera lenses to cover its body in this distance. The car is known for its elegence as the American personal luxury car.
[The name Eldorado was derived from the Spanish words "el dorado", "the golden one"]

And more...

I didn't have the patience to research the several 100's of photographs of vintage cars i took that day. Neither will you; as a reader, will like those photos conveying literally less 'information'. But, if you have a chance to 'drop by' in Belgium, try not to miss this museum; especially if you are an 'automobile' enthusiast.
